The strong Ant

The strong Ant

The whole morning I had kept a lookout for the Bengal tiger, while walking through the Himalayan foothills in the south of Nepal – however, I only got to see an imprint of its paw. At noon the rhinos at their daily river bath compensated for the unseen tiger. Then I discovered a red ant, which seemed to be, at least in its relative physical strength, far ahead of the predatory cats. Amazingly fast the tiny creature pulled an estimated twenty times heavier conspecific backwards along the path.
