A solo trip is rich in intense moments. The most memorable ones for me were usually those I experienced alone. As soon as I forget about time, clear my head and my senses become alert, I start to actively engage with the world around me.
All at once I become curious, discover the smallest details in my surroundings, recognize a meaning in things that until then seemed trivial to me, or engage with people I otherwise may not have paid attention to.
I have tried to take photos of many such moments while traveling. But the pictures usually depict only a part of the experience. The intensity of the depicted moments in fact becomes much more visible in the context of the individual stories.
The blog published here, each presenting a picture in combination with a short story, is intended to convey some of the special moments of my solo travels. Some of the posts are about situations that appear in the book “Soloreise – vom Abenteuer, dem Ruf der Freiheit zu folgen”.
