Lesson on the Beach

Lesson on the Beach

After a few village children had pulled the dolphin ashore, it got professionally disassembled on the beach by one of the fishermen. The dissection process was curiously observed by countless kids and vividly performed and commented by the instructor. My impression was that the future hunters should not only internalize the technique of cutting and the anatomy of marine mammals, but also the rules according to which the distribution takes place. Here, everything is obviously utilized and distributed, the meat, the fat, the organs and the bones. There is no packaging, and certainly no long delivery routes. The teacher in me wondered: Could a lesson be more substantial? I, at least, have learned a lot about life.
