Zanzibar at its best

One evening, I was walking along the beach of Stonetown with two young French world travelers when we struck up a conversation with a Tanzanian boat owner. We bought a six-pack of beer and spent the evening together on his sailboat lying on the shore and then asked the man if he would take us out to sea the next morning. The French wanted to grill fresh fish, I wanted to sail, and we promptly received a custom offer at a fair price. Early in the morning we met at the central market for provisions, then sailed to an offshore sandbar and ate a freshly grilled squid with fresh pineapple. A perfect trip!
